Benefits of Membership

Our historic houses are all very different. They range from simple country houses and manor houses to large stately homes. We each have our own special problems but we all share the heavy responsibility of maintaining an important part of Ireland's built heritage. This makes it vitally important that we are properly represented.

In today's economic climate the HHI needs to ensure that private owners' thoughts and concerns are known and understood by everyone whose decisions have the potential to affect us or our houses.

Criteria for Membership

Full HHI Membership is open to houses that meet all three criteria: 
1. A protected structure 
2. A detached building 
3. In private ownership and used (or capable of being 
used) as a residence for at least part of the year.

Associate Membership is open to houses that meet all but one of the Full Member criteria. Associate membership recognises that not every historic house fits neatly into a single definition, and ensures that as many custodians as possible can be part of our network. 

Both Full and Associate Membership subscriptions cost 200 euro per year.
